Journal Art: Journal the Journey in 2021

Ola Chicas!! It’s been a while since I last checked in — this has been one whirlwind of a year and a sistah can honestly say that I’m totally relaxed and refreshed in the midst of this noisy world that we live in! Whew Chile!!🧘🏽‍♀️🙏🏽

I literally close my eyes, take deep intentional breaths and give myself permission to be at peace in the present moment.. Easier said than done but it’s possible! So many days this year that I had to be reminded to breath, free to cry, laugh hard on purpose, hold my head up though the the tension in my shoulders were weighing my neck down (yes it’s all connected...)

So much sadness and uncertainty this year that I had to press in deep to see the good. And yes, in the midst of this craziness of 2020 — there was so much good! So much encouragement, collective positive energy, community support and family connectiveness.  I’m determined to move forward but not without reflection and deep gratitude. The way to capture it all for me has always been to write down.

Over the past 20 years or so, journaling has been my go to safe place to purge, reflect and goal set. Towards the end of each year, I mentally start to slow down, reflect and realign. Maybe it’s unconsciously being in tune with nature, Autumn and Winter brings about a urge to slow down, gather, and hibernate.

At the end of the year, especially after the Hoilday rush, my body and my mind seems to have finally caught up with my spirit and it literally shuts down. It’s tired —  it screams rest, retreat and cleanse... So many ups and downs this year I literally lost since of time or even some days not even knowing what day of the week it was. So this year especially, it’s a must to capture, compartmentalize and seek clarity on how to plan forward. Listen in to my latest podcast titled “Journal the Journey in 2021” —here I’m sharing some nuggets on how I organize my journaling for the year to come.

You’ll be amazed at what comes out as you start penning things to paper — your spirit , soul and mind will benefit greatly.. Join me!
